Tips of the Week Feb. 17-20

I hope everyone had a nice, long weekend with lots of time spent with family!

It was truly great to sit down and chat with many of you last Thursday/Friday. If we did not meet, please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss your child's progress. Please remember to read and discuss ALL of the NEXT STEPS listed on your child's report with your child.

Reminders for this week:

  • Pizza Day is Wednesday
  • Our LAST skating day is Thursday (please SIGN AND RETURN THE PERMISSION FORM before Thursday!)

Language- As we did not get to our story writing last week, we will be working on starting the process this week. Any brainstorming at home would be greatly appreciated so that students have some ideas already generated to share with the class.

*Poetry will go home today, as well as our Spelling #22, and as a result of our short week, our Spelling Quiz will take place on Friday.

Math- This week we are wrapping up our Data Management unit, including  gathering the remainder of our data, choosing and drawing our graphs, and sharing our results with the class.
Please remember to encourage your child to check out some of the great websites listed on our 'games' page to the right! These sites provide many wonderful opportunities to reinforce the concepts learned in the classroom!

Science- Last week we saw some amazing projects and listened to some fascinating presentations, and we are keen to see and hear more this week!

French- We are looking forward to watching the remainder of our wonderful "Voila, C'est Moi" projects this week! We are also eagerly awaiting our "Carnaval de Park Lawn", happening Friday afternoon (arranged and presented by our incredible Grade 4 and 5 students). Park Lawn's very own mini version of "Le Carnaval de Quebec"!

Have fun working and being together!
